The company’s enduring success is attributed to a passion for creativity, strong ethics, and the dedication of its people, who share a commitment to the company's vision of making a difference in people’s lives.Due to continuous growth and expansion, Pharmathen Pharmaceuticals offers a great opportunity for career development and is seeking to recruit an Environmental Management Expert for the ESG department in our Marousi premises.As an Environmental Management Expert the ideal candidate will develop and implement Environmental Management processes and systems (including ISO 14001), ensuring compliance with regulations, coordinating audits and licensing, leading circularity projects, and promoting resource efficiency and sustainability across the Group.More particularly:What you will do:
  • Regulatory Disclosures: Lead the data collection for the preparation of regulatory environmental reports to State Authorities. Collaborate with manufacturing units and internal departments to collect environmental performance data and prepare regular reports on environmental issues, including key metrics and progress against targets. Contribute to general Pharmathen Sustainability Disclosures, and ESG Ratings
  • Environmental Compliance: Lead Monitoring and Internal Coordination to ensure compliance with National & European regulations. Cooperate with manufacturing sites to ensure adherence to environmental terms of Environmental Licensing (ΑΕΠΟ / ΠΠΔ). Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and substantiated responses to regulatory environmental inquiries
  • Environmental Management: Lead the development, update and implementation of metrics and targets, at corporate level and in cooperation with Manufacturing Units, relating to Environmental Management for topics that include Pollution, Waste Management (Hazardous and Non-Hazardous), Air Quality, Effluents management and treatment. Act as project manager for circularity projects across the Group. Cooperate with cross-functional teams to establish environmental performance goals and targets
  • Environmental Management Systems: Lead the development, coordination and update of Environmental Management Systems. Cooperate with Manufacturing Units for the development, update and implementation of related Policies and Procedures. Act as project manager for ISO 14001 and interacts with certification bodies
  • Environmental Audits: Lead the design and execution of Environmental Audits by ISO 14001 and/or similar requested by Customers or other constituents and ensure the integrity of documentation and other substantiating material. Adapt and coordinate environmental audits in alignment with related identified environmental risks. Support other Sustainability audit activities
  • Supply Chain Compliance: Contribute to Supply chain compliance with Environmental requirements. Review Environmental Terms in supplier tenders (RfPs)
RequirementsThe ideal candidate should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Master’s degree in engineering or relevant field (Sustainability / Environment) is desired
  • 5-8 years of previous relevant experience (ESG/Environment)
Job-Specific Skills:
  • Certifications in ESG / Sustainability topics and/or ISO Mgmt. Systems
  • Lead Auditor certification in ISO 14001 and significant experience with environmental audits
  • Excellent communication in English language (writing & speaking)
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Environmental Regulation (National and European)
  • Hands-on experience with Environmental Management / EHS in an industrial setting, preferably but not necessary in pharmaceuticals
  • Hands-on experience with the management of environmental impacts (Waste Management & Recycling, Water stewardship, Air Emissions) and interaction with service providers
  • Hands-on experience with interacting with State Authorities with respect to environmental reporting (such as Waste Report – HMA) and environmental regulatory compliance (ΑΕΠΟ / ΠΠΔ)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Proven team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills, engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders
