The position will be reported to the Mine Geology Superintendent of the Technical Services department.Main Responsibilities:· Daily underground ore control and reporting.· Underground mapping and collection of geological and geotechnical information.· Routine supervision of drilling activities.· Responsible for the data extraction from geological core logging, mapping and sampling, in order to ensure effective production of payable ore.· Analysis and assessment of all geological data to advise on short-term mine production plans.· Supervise diamond drilling programs (Infill, Geotechnical, Hydrological and Utility drilling).· Geologic and geotechnical data collection from drill core.· Participate in the execution of ore grade control, sorting of ore types and tracking material management.· Responsible for maintaining and collating face maps, grade reports, and assist in updating geological interpretations.· Apply a knowledge of fundamental geology to develop an understanding of how rock types and structure in the mine impact on groundwater occurrence and movement.· Produce, execute, and plan geotechnical projects in coordination with Mine Planning to fit optimally into the development of the mine.· Assist and the development and maintenance of geological and geotechnical modelling.· Utilize high end computer software designed for mining operations such as mine design, modelling, mapping and monitoring mine conditions.· Liaise with relevant mining personnel regarding grade control and ore production issues and protocols.· Help in the optimization of geological systems and procedures as well as ensure that they are being effectively utilized.· Prepare memos, maps, and reports interpreting findings of data collection and evaluation, model updates and provide guidance and recommendations.· Ensure models are completed within agreed timeframes and plan next year’s exploration targets.Requirements:· Bachelor’s degree in Geology or in Geology and Geoenvironment or in similar field.· 1 year experience in the related fields of Geology and Mine Geology.· Experience in ore control, statistical analytical techniques, and using mining software that includes 3D modelling is required.· Advanced computer skills – 3D-Mining Software (preferably Leapfrog), Microsoft applications (Access) or similar geological database systems.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English languages.· Problem solving skills and critical thinking.· Judgement and decision-making skills.· Planning and organizational skills, including goal setting and ability to modify priorities where necessary.· Time-management skills and ability to work under pressure.· Team working spirit.· Driving License.Our company offers a competitive remuneration package that includes an attractive combination of basic salary and benefits, as well as opportunities for development in a challenging work environment.Inclusion and DiversityHellas Gold is an equal opportunities employer.
