
EWIS Engineer

- Participate in the entire aircraft design and development cycle of state-of-the-art fixed-wing small and tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for defense and security applications, including certification.
- Design and develop EWIS in accordance with UAS requirements and regulatory standards.
- Systems engineers to capture the electrical design requirements.
- Structural aeronautical engineers to perform trade-off studies concerning EWIS weight buildup, EWIS routing restrictions, EWIS mounting, etc.
- Create 3D model-based definitions of the EWIS with respect to design standards selected (i.e. SAE ARP 50881).
- Use industry-standard tools for electrical design and documentation. Collaborate with EWIS production engineers for design for manufacturing.
- Prepare and review wiring diagrams/tables, harness layouts, installation drawings, schematics and formboards for manufacturing.
- Support the certification processes, including development of compliance documentation and coordination with regulatory authorities.

- Bachelor or MSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of either EWIS/Hydraulics routing using CAD tools, or physical cable routing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience working with connectors, backshells, EMI shielding, and cable/wire protection methods.
- Good knowledge of mechanical drawing rules.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Proven working experience on EWIS design and/or EWIS manufacturing.
- Knowledge of aircraft wiring standards, materials, and certification requirements.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory and certification frameworks (e.g., DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754A).
- Milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR.
- Development and maintenance of electrical wiring diagrams and harness architecture to meet system requirements.
- Comprehension and application of EMI/RFI, signal shielding, and bonding principles.
- Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard practices and requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of product development methodologies, such as the V-model.
- Work experience with SIEMENS NX or DASSAULT CATIA V5 modules for Electrical routing/harness design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to take initiative and motivation to drive results.
