We are currently seeking to recruit a Tax Accountant based in Athens who will become an integral part of our Global Tax Team and support senior management in our ambitious growth plans and relevant key decision making with regards to our operations globally. You will be responsible for group tax compliance and reporting matters. You will also support the accounting and reporting function as well as business operations across matters related to direct and indirect taxation.What you will focus on:

Plan, prepare and manage the tax compliance timetable for various areas of taxes (VAT/ sales taxes, lodging taxes, WTH and other taxes).
Where outsourced, review tax computations & returns to support these filings, working with external advisors.
Where internal, sourcing data, preparing & filing tax returns, working closely with cross-functional teams as necessary.
Validating data sources and investigating discrepancies with different teams as part of the compliance process.
Work on the quarterly/ annually tax accounting process (IFRS/ US GAAP Tax Provision & Reporting).
Identify, implement and document appropriate process and control improvements for areas and explore opportunities to further improve and automate tax compliance function using technology.
Prepare tax-related reports, schedules, and analyses for internal stakeholders, including management, finance teams, and auditors. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related information.
Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assess their impact on the company, and develop strategies for compliance. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation.
Support and respond effectively to certain tax audits and inquiries, as needed.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, legal, and operations, to gather relevant tax data, provide tax guidance, and support tax-related projects. Communicate tax implications and requirements effectively to non-tax professionals.

What we are looking for:

BSc or BA in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
3+ years of relevant working experience on tax accounting/ compliance within a corporate tax department of a MNC or CPA/ Big4 firm.
Understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with tax planning strategies, provisions, and accounting methods.
Meticulous and detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in tax calculations, filings, and reports.
Professional tax and / or accounting accreditation with sound knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent written and communication skills in English to convey complex tax concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Team player, entrepreneurial spirit with great organizational skills, attention to detail and logical thought process.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to implementation.
Experience with Navision 365 accounting software and automation tools will be considered as a plus.
