IT Business Analyst - Regulatory Reporting and Compliance

Main Purpose: As an IT Business Analyst you will work on business process analysis and requirement gathering to enable the delivery of complex software development projects in the areas of compliance and regulatory reporting.
Within this role, you will enhance and support the reporting function that is achieved via a leading IT software solution in this space for various regulatory regimes namely EMIR, CFTC/Dodd-Frank, MAS, FMIA/FinfraG, REMIT and MiFID. You will also work on various in-house and vendor IT solutions used for market surveillance, limits monitoring and regulatory threshold calculations.
You will be responsible for understanding and verifying business cases for change, defining business requirements, functional requirements and design, manage relationships and expectations with stakeholders and sponsors and support development and test teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
You will work in applying structured analysis and problem solving in areas they may not have business domain knowledge and experience.Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Passion for business analytics in financial regulations and compliance domain.
  • Ability to act as a bridge between the business and highly technical developers located in remote offices, translating business concepts into requirements that are implementable. Strong analytical skills with ability to conduct complex data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to self-manage and regularly prioritise and plan activities across multiple project work streams.
  • Strong academic background is required in a subject that demonstrates the need for logical thinking, precise understanding and clear articulation.
  • Understanding of various software development methodologies (e.g. continuous integration, iterative development).
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice to have some experience of requirements analysis in a commercial environment (or have key transferable skills).
  • Good to have knowledge of various financial instruments (equities, futures, options, swaps, etc.).
  • Exposure to Capital Markets or Investment Banking or Commodities Trading will be a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create business and functional requirement documents with guidance from senior business analysts and project team.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with business stakeholders (Compliance and Back Office).
  • Detail story elaboration to facilitate the system development.
  • Support development and quality assurance teams to ensure a solution meets its business requirements.
  • Support change management and training teams to prepare business stakeholder for process and functional change.
  • Provide third line support for production issues.
