Τοποθεσία: AthensStarting Date: ASAPStatus: Fixed term/Full TimeChild Safeguarding Policy: Level 3 - The job holder will have regular contact with children.Reports To: Senior Schools Liaison OfficerJob OverviewThe School Liaison Officer plays a crucial role in SolidarityNow project on menstrual health, which targets children aged 9-12, 12-15, parents/guardians, and teachers across Greece (Attica, Central Macedonia, Central Greece, Peloponnese, West Greece, North Aegean Region, East Macedonia & Thrace). The project's goals are to promote menstrual health and hygiene awareness and literacy by educating children, adolescents, parents/guardians, and teachers, and by distributing menstrual products to girls. This role focuses on fostering effective collaboration with schools, local education authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the project's successful implementation. The Senior School Liaison Officer will conduct school mapping, establish outreach programs, and serve as the key communication link between the project team and educational institutions. In addition to liaising with schools and education authorities, the Senior Officer supervises and coordinates the team of School Liaison Officers, serving as the main point of reference for school-related issues and challenges. The role also includes overseeing school mapping and outreach, ensuring smooth scheduling of visits and logistics, and monitoring progress in collaboration with the Monitoring & Evaluation team. The Senior Officer acts as the key communication link between the project team, educational institutions, and institutional partners to ensure the successful and timely implementation of activities.Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of School Liaison Officers, providing guidance, support, and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Serve as the main reference point for school-related issues, resolving challenges and escalating concerns when needed.
  • Map, select, and coordinate school visits based on the program's equity-based selection criteria, prioritizing underserved areas, and schedule these visits in collaboration with facilitator teams to ensure smooth logistics, including travel arrangements and distribution of teaching materials.
  • Act as the primary contact point for schools, fostering understanding of the project's goals, addressing concerns, and securing active participation from stakeholders.
  • Communicate the project's objectives and methodologies to school staff, parents' associations, and education authorities.
  • Support the delivery of seminars by collaborating with facilitators, assisting with the distribution of educational materials and period products, and ensuring high participation.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring & Evaluation team to review progress of scheduled school visits, track achievements, and contribute to project adjustments based on findings.
  • Maintain strong organizational oversight to ensure timely execution of project activities and resolve any issues that may arise during implementation.
  • Collaborate with UNICEF, other implementing or institutional partners of the program to align project efforts and secure broader support for the initiative.
Qualifications
  • University degree (preferably Master's) from an accredited academic institution, preferably in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in roles involving school outreach, stakeholder engagement, or program coordination in educational or social initiatives.
  • Proven experience working with governmental and local education authorities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships with diverse groups, including school staff, regional authorities, and parents.
  • Proficiency in Greek and English (written and spoken).
  • Familiarity with menstrual health and hygiene topics is an advantage.
  • High level of initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word business software.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Greece.
