A key component is the piloting of the Triple P - Positive Parenting Program, an evidence-based intervention that equips parents with skills, confidence, and knowledge to support their children's development and wellbeing.The program is implemented by SolidarityNow in the regions of Attica, Central Macedonia, and Epirus and includes perinatal parenting support and support for parents of children aged 1-16 years. Activities include parenting seminars, group sessions, individual counselling, psychosocial support, and community outreach.Position SummaryThe Communications & Outreach Officer will contribute to community engagement, awareness-raising, and communications activities in each city. The role also includes administrative support to ensure smooth planning and coordination of sessions. This position is key to mobilizing parents, ensuring high participation, and documenting outreach impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to strengthening family and child health in Greece, working closely with communities, health providers, and UNICEF.Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a local outreach plan to promote Triple P sessions, in collaboration with the Project Manager and in coordination with UNICEF.
- Create and adapt communication materials (flyers, posters, social media content) in coordination with UNICEF's Communication Department.
- Engage with schools, health centers, municipalities, and local NGOs to reach parents.
- Support organization of awareness events, health fairs, and parenting information days.
- Collect real-life testimonials, stories, and visuals to contribute to UNICEF's communication efforts.
- Serve as a focal point for community members seeking information about the program.
- Support Parenting Practitioners in recruiting participants for sessions.
- Facilitate referrals from community actors to parenting services.
- Assist with session scheduling, attendance sheets, and participant follow-up.
- Maintain basic documentation of outreach and session records.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Project Manager and Parenting Practitioners as needed.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in media, communications, journalism, social sciences or other related fields.
- At least 2 years' experience in community outreach, communications, or awareness campaigns.
- Experience working with families, children, or social projects preferred.
- Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and working knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Prior experience with UN/INGO donor reporting is considered an advantage.
- Fluency in Greek and English.
