- Strategically think about the mission of your product pillar and define opportunities and set a Product Design vision, leading the development of new and existing product outcomes.
- Be a force multiplier, amplifying efforts to improve our design thinking, processes and methods as a Product Design team and lead by example.
- Be responsible for the happiness and design output of the designers who report to you, mentoring, coaching and leading them while also being directly involved in collaborating with them on design work.
- Take a leading role in one of our core product pillars (Discovery, marketplace, growth)
- Collaborate closely with your Product Trio by driving the design direction and defining the team roadmap and vision and outline the increments for the feature delivery
- Mentor and coach product designers, helping them grow in their skills and careers
- Own all sides of design from concept to launch: from discovery and problem definition, to ideation, and delivery with user flows, mockups, and prototypes
- Participate in user studies, competitive research and usability tests alongside our User Research Team
- Work closely with developers to see design through to QA and implementation
- Contribute to our design system when necessary and maintain consistency in visual elements and components across the product.
- Collaborate with internal teams and senior stakeholders, including the Product Trio and developers from your team by leading workshops and sprints that help you converge to product design outcomes
- Become an expert in your product area, understanding the competitive landscape, where the market is going, and how those things relate to your product pillars’ mission and vision
- Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant position
- A deep understanding of design thinking principles and how to apply them to solve complex problems is critical for successful product design (you have read the book The Design Sprint by Jake Knapp)
- Demonstrated experience in understanding business objectives and metrics to make design decisions that align with the team goals
- Ability to interrogate the data and make data-informed decisions by levering qualitative methods like User Research insights and quantitative methods like user analytics
- Demonstrated experience to clearly communicate design decisions, ideas, and vision to stakeholders and team members is essential
- Experience of working in a cross-discipline team environment
- Demonstrated experience in user research method, Evaluative and Generative
- Proficiency in relevant creative tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD), we work with Figma
- Experience with prototyping tools and motion principles
- Experience working with a design system, its curation, maintenance, and dissemination
- Self-motivated with a bias to action mindset. Prioritize and manage workload, timelines, and resources efficiently, especially when dealing with multiple stakeholders.
