Infrastructure Engineer (Linux/Security)

• System installation, configuration, troubleshooting, tuning, upgrading, patch maintenance, system backup administration, implementing and maintaining system security postures, and assisting with hardware/software installations.

• Produce detailed, hardware and software inventories of both physical and virtual machines/environments.

• Setup and maintain core Linux services, security services, firewalls, ports.

• Build and maintain highly available production systems.

• Setting up Cloudflare for different needs.

• Write automated (Bash/Puppet) programs for installing applications, libraries, and services on Linux systems (Debian)

• Testing web applications for vulnerabilities.

• Work with API interfaces and data formats such as REST and JSON

• Share information with other team members

• Maintain databases (MySQL and MongoDB)

• Setting up and managing backup environments

• Provide technical support to operational computer systems. Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues

• Monitor computer systems and networks

• Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults

• Monitor security anti-virus systems and firewalls

• TCP/IP Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN Technologies)TCP/IP Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN Technologies)

• At least 3 years of experience with Cloudflare system (DNS, SSL, Security, Caching, Rules, Traffic)

• At least 3 years of experience in Linux System Administration or relevant roles

• Experience in automated OS installation, software compilation, package management, diagnostic troubleshooting

• Broad experience supporting and maintaining common Linux/Unix applications and services (Bind, Apache, Nginx, MySQL, MongoDB etc.), as well as a deep understanding of DNS, DHCP, NFS, PXE, SNMP, SSH, HTTP/S, SSL

• Experience with the fundamentals of Linux and DevOps scripting languages (BASH)

• Experience with network security and architecture principles

• Ability to take ownership of tasks and work as a team member

• Hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, LAN, VPN, Firewalling

• Problem solving skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills

• Good communication skills in both Greek and English

• Completed military obligations
