The position will be reported to the Technical Services Manager of the Technical Services department in Skouries.Main Responsibilities:· Design and develop effective ventilation plans for all underground mining operations, adhering to strict safety regulations and industry best practices.· Conduct regular inspections and assessments of the ventilation system, identifying and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.· Implement monitoring systems to continuously assess ventilation performance and air quality in various areas of the mine.· Perform thorough calculations to determine air flow requirements, pressure losses, and fan capacities.· Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of ventilation equipment, including fans, ducts, and monitoring systems.· Collaborate with other engineers, mine supervisors, and safety personnel to ensure optimal ventilation throughout the mine.· Collaborate with mine planning and engineering teams to integrate ventilation designs into overall mine plans.· Stay up-to-date on the latest ventilation technologies and regulations.· Prepare and maintain comprehensive ventilation reports and documentation.· Utilize VentSim software to design and optimize ventilation systems for underground mine operations.· Conduct airflow modeling and simulations to ensure adequate ventilation throughout the mine workings.· Analyze data from ventilation monitoring systems to identify inefficiencies or potential hazards.· Develop and implement strategies to address ventilation challenges and optimize airflow distribution.· Stay updated on relevant mining regulations and industry standards related to ventilation and air quality.· Prepare documentation and reports for regulatory agencies as required.· Conduct risk assessments related to ventilation systems and air quality hazards.· Develop and implement risk mitigation measures to minimize exposure to harmful gases, dust, and other airborne contaminants.· Work closely with safety and health teams to address ventilation-related risks and ensure compliance with safety protocols.· Provide training and guidance to mine personnel on ventilation principles, practices, and safety procedures.· Foster a culture of awareness and accountability regarding ventilation-related issues among all levels of mine staff.Requirements:· Degree in Mining & Metallurgical Engineering or in Mineral Resources Engineering or in related field.· A post graduate degree would be considered as an asset.· At least 2 years of experience working as a ventilation engineer or mining for an underground mine operations.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English languages.· Proficiency in VentSim software for ventilation design and modeling.· Proficient computer knowledge of MS Office, Deswik and Autodesk Packages.· Strong understanding of underground mine ventilation principles, including airflow dynamics, heat management, and gas control.· Familiarity with advanced ventilation techniques, such as auxiliary ventilation.· Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards for mine ventilation.· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address ventilation challenges effectively.· Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.· Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols.· Good ability for both teamwork and individual performance of tasks· Driving License.Our company offers a competitive remuneration package that includes an attractive combination of basic salary and benefits, as well as opportunities for development in a challenging work environment.Inclusion and DiversityHellas Gold is an equal opportunities employer.
