Location: ARGOLIDA/KORINTHIAStarting Date: ASAPStatus: Fixed term/Full TimeChild Safeguarding Policy: Level 3 - The job holder will have regular contact with children.Reports To: Senior Menstrual Health FacilitatorJob OverviewThe Menstrual Health Facilitator is an integral member of the SolidarityNow project on menstrual health, which targets children aged 9-12, 12-15, parents/guardians, and teachers across Greece. The project's goals are to promote menstrual health and hygiene awareness and literacy by educating children, adolescents, parents/guardians, and teachers, and by fostering open discussions in schools. This role involves: a) facilitating awareness seminars and workshops in schools to promote menstrual literacy and health, b) engaging with students, teachers, and parents/guardians through interactive, experiential learning methods.Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive, engaging, and informative awareness seminars to students in schools across Argolida/Korinthia, and other regions, aiming to increase menstrual literacy and open discussions about menstruation. Ensure the seminars are inclusive, promote gender equity, and address both educational and psychosocial aspects of menstruation.
- Use experiential and interactive learning methodologies to encourage active participation and peer education, empowering menstruating students to lead discussions and share their experiences. Adapt the educational content to meet the specific needs of each target group, school's context and local concerns, while maintaining alignment with the project's overall objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the educational seminars and trainings, collecting feedback from participants to inform ongoing project improvements and impact studies, in collaboration with Monitoring & Evaluation staff.
- Provide continuous support and feedback to team members and ensure high-quality service delivery throughout the project's implementation.
- Maintain strong relationships with other facilitators, project staff, and stakeholders, contributing to the project's success and fostering a collaborative working environment.
- University degree (preferably Master's) from an accredited academic institution, preferably in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in facilitating educational seminars or workshops, or group discussions, ideally in health promotion or social education settings with children, adolescents and adults, using participatory methods.
- Familiarity with menstrual health and hygiene issues.
- Ability to adapt educational materials to diverse audiences, including students, parents/guardians, and teachers from various socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse groups and ensure active participation from all involved.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and deliver them effectively within timelines.
- Proficiency in Greek and English (written and spoken).
- Strong sense of initiative, responsibility, ownership, and excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word business software.
