Offer DescriptionThe Hellenic Pasteur Institute invites applications for the position of Director General, according to the provisions of the bilateral agreement between the Greek Government, the Institut Pasteur in Paris and the Hellenic Pasteur Institute (Law 4528/2018), and the general legislative framework in force for Research and Technology (Law 4310/2014, 4386/2016).The Director General manages the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, ensures the implementation of the Executive Board's decisions, as well as the proper functioning of the H.P.I., according to the policies set by the Executive Board.In particular, the Director General is, among others, Head of all Research, Administrative and other services and proposes to the Executive Board the strategic plan for the Institute. Also, he/she defines the scientific scopes of the H.P.I. and supervises the implementation of all research programs.The term is for four (4) years, subject to one renewal and the position is full-time.The Director General may exercise research activity in the H.P.I. If he/she is a Professor, he can teach one class per semester. Professors must obtain a status of part-time in the University, and the respective decision must be submitted to the H.P.I. within a reasonable period following their appointment.RequirementsResearch Field Biological sciences Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Neurosciences Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Medical sciences Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsCandidates for the post of the Director General:

Must be internationally accredited scientists, possessing the qualifications of a Researcher Grade A΄ or a Full Professor. The qualifications of a Researcher Grade A΄ in particular, are the following:
Proven ability to develop research and its applications in new fields, to coordinate activities in broader areas of research and technological development, to contribute to the formulation of research and technological policy, as well as the development of research organizations by means of attracting funding.
International recognition for contributing to scientific and technological aspects of his / her area of expertise, contribution to the dissemination and application of the know-how generated through research, internationally established record of monographs or publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed scientific journals, or significant patents. Finally, his / her contribution to the progress of science and technology must be acknowledged by other Researchers.
Must have considerable scientific experience in the fields of interest of the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, or in the field of Public Health in general
Must possess administrative and managerial skills and the ability to prepare a strategic plan, as well as in managing and developing Human Resources
Must have excellent knowledge of the Greek language. Non Greek citizens are requested to certify excellent knowledge of the Greek language, according to the provisions in paragraph 4, article 28 of the Presidential Decree 50/2001, as amended and applies
At the time of submitting their application candidates must not be over 63 years of age
Must have excellent knowledge of the English language, certified according to the provisions in paragraph 2, article 28 of the Presidential Decree 50/2001, as amended and applies, or by any other appropriate means
Knowledge of the French language will be considered an additional asset
Must have no criminal record
