- Responsible for technical performance of assigned vessel(s), management of critical equipment and spares and day-to-day technical management.
- Responsible for planning and execution of yard stays for assigned vessel(s).
- Responsible for pit-stop planning and execution.
- Responsible for marine subcontractor management.
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance status of the vessel.
- Responsible to ensure archiving of all relevant vessel documentation.
- Responsible for OPEX budget planning and performance for assigned vessel(s).
- Responsible to provide inputs to CAPEX for assigned vessel(s).
- Responsible for general knowledge management for assigned vessel(s) (Consolidating and making available Lessons Learned from ship operations and events in general)
- Provide input for proper manning of assigned vessel(s) in coordination with Crew Team and ensure that all guidelines of crew management are followed
- Responsible for compliance to QHSE plan, SMS, local, flag state, port state and Class requirements for assigned vessel(s).
- Responsible to ensure investigations are initiated on all marine events including breakdowns
- Responsible to follow up on marine events and ensure that events are properly analyzed and that corrective actions are identified and implemented.
- Responsible to capture lessons learned and ensure Experience Transfers / Lessons Learned are issued.
- Responsible for identifying and reporting needs for SMS changes.
- Degree in Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering (BEng or equivalent);
- MEng or MSc in Engineering would be beneficial;
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in a similar role, with filed experience of at least 4 years;
- Sea going experience will be a strong asset for the scope of this job position;
- Proficient in use of design software (AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, etc.);
- Conversant with stability and strength calculation software;
- General knowledge of Classification, SOLAS Convention, MARPOL Convention and other pertinent IMO rules and guidelines is necessary;
- Conversant with the ISM and ISPS Codes;
- Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language;
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office required;
- Additional working knowledge of foreign languages, (e.g. Italian, German, French etc.) are to be considered as extra skills;
