- Adheres to and implements Asso internal RQHSE management system requirements and operational quality, health, safety and environmental procedures;
- Makes sure that Asso is aware of and complies with all legislation in relation to the use of its plant, equipment and substances, marine means, as well as in all workplace and offshore activities;
- Plans and ensures that audits/inspections are carried out onshore and offshore to establish that Asso meets:
- current legislative requirements;
- client/project requirements;
- internal Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental targets;
- Promotes occupational health & safety and environmental responsibility within the organization, so as to develop safer and healthier ways of working;
- Makes sure that personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, footwear and safety helmets, is being used in workplaces according to regulations;
- Assists in organizing periodically training sessions for management, supervisors, seafarers and all employees in general on QHSE practices and legislation;
- Coordinates emergency procedures, fire-fighting and first aid crews and any other crew required according to regulations;
- Conducts RQHSE induction trainings and emergency mock drills;
- Advises senior and project management of changes in regulations as needed;
- Interfaces with Customers and external bodies and lead responses to external audit requests;
- Interact with regulatory agencies as required to maintain compliance with all applicable standards including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and sometimes ISM, ISPS, MLC;
- Periodically inspects and tests machinery and equipment, such as but not limited to vehicles, equipment, machinery, tools & tackles, lifting devices, fire-fighting facilities, excavators, scaffoldings, lifts, hoists & cranes, both on board the vessels and on the technical base, to make sure they meet safety regulations;
- Recommends and monitors the use, provision and effectiveness of safety equipment;
- Makes sure that dangerous materials are correctly stored;
- Identifies and tests work areas for potential accident and health hazards, such as toxic fumes and explosive gas-air mixtures, and implement appropriate control measures;
- Helps supervising the investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and recommend remedial action(s);
- Assists with the rehabilitation of seafarers and employees after accidents or injuries and make sure they experience a satisfactory return to work;
- Assists in developing Asso and project specific RQHSE policies, procedures, manuals and programs;
- Supports the implementation of RQHSE Improvement Plans;
- Prepares the company for internal & external RQHSE audits and inspections;
- Documentation Control:
- Maintains all company manuals updated
- Creates risk assessments and provides solutions to minimize risks;
- Participates frequently on the reports to be prepared regarding the status of the occupational RQHSE program as requested by management;
- Conducts risk assessments of the project activities;
- Conducts RQHSE meetings on site (e.g. HAZID & HAZOP);
- Attends client’s RQHSE meetings & technical meetings;
- Conducts accident/incident/near missed investigation;
- Compiles and issues specific project safety files, statutory notices and regulations required for site operations;
- Creates final report and retrospective analysis to define best practices and wrongs during the whole project or a specific incident;
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required depending on the needs of the company;
- Assists in daily departmental functions;
- As part of the business area of operation, the candidate will participate in offshore projects as part of rotation basis
- A higher University or Technical Institute degree in an engineering or technical related field;
- Minimum 2 years related experience in a Technical and/or QHSE Department;
- Other working experience with similar responsibilities is under consideration as well;
- Must have sound knowledge of
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office is required;
- Knowledge of marine management systems such as ISM/ISPS/MLC are to be considered as extra skills;
- Academic title or professional certification related to quality management systems, quality management monitoring, safety and environmental management or marine safety are to be considered as extra skills;
